Success Story | Hospitality & Tourism

Destination: Woodbury

Destination: Woodbury is the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for Woodbury, Minnesota. The DMO promotes tourism in Woodbury, connecting visitors to local amenities, things to do, dining spots, hotels, and resources for the purpose of enhancing the visitor experience and supporting the local visitor economy.

The Business Challenge

Destination: Woodbury was tasked with building a pipeline of events for the newly renovated Central Park,a modern community facility featuring banquet spaces, party rooms, an indoor park, and indoor playground. While local residents were excited for the reopening, the larger opportunity was to attract corporate gatherings, community events, weddings, and other destination-worthy events. Our challenge was to attractevent planners from outside of the area and build interest before the facility was complete.

Our Assessment

Our mission was clear: We needed to generate interest without the ability of giving tours or providing photos and videos of the facility. We couldn’t wait until late October when the facility was slated to open to begin the process; that would be too late. Businesses were already planning holiday gatherings, couples were searching for wedding venues, and families were planning parties for the new year.

We organized the campaign around three clear priorities designed to make Central Park easier to discover, help people understand what it offers, and turn interest into bookings.
  1. Build an Online Presence
  2. Increase Brand Awareness
  3. Generate Bookings

Execution

Landing Pages

Central Park did not have a website when we began, so we created seven landing pages, each focused on a specific audience or event type. The pages combined essential facility information, stock photography, architectural renderings, and a contact form – giving every digital campaign a clear destination.

Social Media Marketing

We used the City of Woodbury Parks and Recreation social channels to introduce the renovated facility, explain what was coming, and build anticipation for the reopening.

Email Marketing

We sent targeted email campaigns to corporate meeting planners and professional event planners throughout Minnesota, introducing Central Park as a new option for future events.

Paid Digital Advertising

We launched display and Meta campaigns designed to reach specific audiences and drive them to the most relevant landing page. Each campaign was tracked and reported on to measure interest, inquiries, and performance.

The Central Park campaign for Destination: Woodbury ran from mid-August through mid-December 2026, with the facility officially opening in late October. During that time, we achieved our objectives: we introduced the newly renovated facility to key audiences, generated early interest, and turned that interest into real event opportunities.

Client Impact

Moxie helped Central Park enter its reopening with awareness, interest, and event opportunities already in motion. While staff focused on preparing the facility and internal systems for launch, the campaign introduced the renovated space to key audiences and helped generate early inquiries. That momentum translated into immediate bookings in Fall / Winter 2025 and a strong head start for 2026, allowing the facility to open with real demand already underway.
