Since opening in 2015, Bad Habit Brewing has built a loyal following in St. Joseph, Minnesota, with inventive craft beverages and a personality all its own. As the beverage industry evolved, the brewery saw an opportunity to expand beyond traditional beer with Slack Tide, its line of THC-infused seltzers.
As one of the first local breweries to enter the THC beverage market, Bad Habit Brewing saw an opportunity to introduce something new. But with an unfamiliar product category came questions and hesitation. They needed packaging that would build trust, spark curiosity, and make Slack Tide approachable for their audience.
Bad Habit knew that strong packaging could make all the difference in introducing Slack Tide to the market. Having seen firsthand how distinctive label designs helped drive interest in their beers, they wanted to bring that same energy to this new product line.
Our opportunity was to develop a distinctive visual identity that would stand out in the taproom, reflect Bad Habit’s personality, and establish a strong foundation for future product expansion.
We developed a cohesive packaging approach built around a consistent master design that could adapt as the product line expanded.
Created bold, shelf-ready labels that gave Slack Tide its own visual identity.
Used distinct colors and product details to distinguish individual varieties while maintaining consistency.
Established a repeatable label format that could accommodate additional flavors and future releases.

Slack Tide gave Bad Habit Brewing a distinctive presence in an emerging beverage category, with packaging designed to capture attention, connect with consumers, and grow alongside the product line.
